Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Tax Associate to join our Financial Services Tax team in Qatar. The ideal candidate will support tax advisory, tax compliance, and reporting activities for financial sector clients—including banks, investment firms, insurance companies, and asset management companies.
You will work closely with senior tax professionals to ensure accurate tax filings, compliance with Qatar tax regulations, and delivery of high-quality advisory services.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing and reviewing tax returns, tax computations, and related documentation.
- Support clients with Qatar tax compliance, including corporate tax, withholding tax, and transfer pricing requirements.
- Conduct research on local and international tax regulations, especially those relating to financial services.
- Prepare tax reports, working papers, and client documentation with accuracy and completeness.
- Assist in advising clients on tax planning strategies, restructuring, and regulatory updates.
- Support external tax audits by preparing necessary schedules, responding to queries, and coordinating documentation.
- Assist with VAT-related matters, including compliance reviews and advisory.
- Prepare and maintain accurate internal records, timelines, and progress trackers for client engagements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and build strong professional relationships with clients.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
- 1–3 years of experience in tax, auditing, or financial services (Big 4 experience preferred).
- Strong understanding of Qatar tax law and GCC tax frameworks.
- Knowledge of international tax principles (OECD, BEPS, transfer pricing).
- Proficiency in MS Excel and accounting software.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage deadlines.
- Excellent communication and report-writing skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional certification in progress or completed (ACCA, CPA, CTA, CMA).
- Experience working with financial sector clients (banks, insurers, investment firms).
- Arabic language skills are an advantage but not required.
